EMOD-PACE

The EMODnet PArtnership for China and Europe (EMOD-PACE) project (EuropeAid/139904/DH/SER/CN) (February 2020 - December 2022) is funded through the Foreign Policy Instruments (Directorate-General FPI, Partnership Funding Instrument (PI)). EMOD-PACE is a complex multi-partner marine science & data project with 18 European partner organisations. The project started officially in February 2020 and ran for a period of 30 months. The project delievred a major part of the EU contribution to the EU-China Blue Partnership for the Oceans. The overall aim of the project was to promote international ocean governance with China and support global commitments by identifying and making any marine data and data products held by the EU and China more easily accessible to users and knowledge generators interested in the ‘Maritime Silk Route’, i.e. the marine and coastal geographic areas between China and Europe.

Seascape Belgium (SSBE) is the project leader & coordinator and is responsible for the management of the project, which includes administrative, financial and technical reporting, periodic performance monitoring and communication -both internally (within the EMOD-PACE consortium) and externally (with the counterpart project in China known as CEMDnet),- as well as the establishment and maintenance of a dialogue which aims to enhance the partnership with stakeholders within the Asia region. SSBE also coordinates the scientific and technical delivery of the project and promotes the dissemination of project outputs through the hosting of a dedicated project webpage, which includes a project map-viewer. In addition, EMOD-PACE has set up a technical support facility (Jira supported), through a ‘Contact Us’ page for all user queries.
