Science Officer

- Location: Seascape Belgium Brussels Office, Brussels, Belgium. Travel to meetings elsewhere in Europe and beyond will be required on occasion. Remote working from Ireland or Spain would be considered in exceptional cases for the right candidate.
- Short description: Seascape Belgium seeks to recruit an experienced, high-performing and versatile science officer to take on a position as Project Manager, and join its dynamic team working across a portfolio of projects related to ocean management and environmental sustainability. This position will extend the team’s project management capacity by contributing to selected scientific projects where Seascape plays a role in ocean knowledge management, science policy support, stakeholder communication and engagement, strategic road mapping and marine environmental management.
The successful candidate would support existing and new projects in the Seascape Belgium portfolio matching his/her competences and background across the broad thematic working areas of marine biology and biodiversity, ocean policy, marine data, maritime spatial planning, marine and environmental research infrastructure services, and advancing a sustainable blue economy (see www.seascapebelgium.be website for the full portfolio).
